Touch screen design: the ideal button size

An MIT Touch Lab study of Human Fingertips to investigate the Mechanics of Tactile Sense found that the average width of the index finger is 1.6 to 2 cm (16 – 20 mm) for most adults. This converts to 45 – 57 pixels, which is wider than what most mobile guidelines suggest.

PostSecrets the project that geolocate your secrets

Everybody has secrets, and now there is an app for geo locating them.

PostSecret, a project that was previously confined to the project’s website, museum exhibits and books, has arrived for the iPhone.

If you’re not familiar with PostSecret, it was founded in 2005 by Frank Warren as a sort of community-driven confessional, accepting secrets written anonymously on postcards which were then curated and posted on the project’s website. With the debut of its app, iPhone users can now browse submitted secrets and share their own.

If you’re concerned about your privacy if you submit secrets, PostSecret promises in the app’s description that no personal information is ever stored or shared when using the app.
